The joker strategies: terror and agony

If you don’t know the film: Batman fights his most dangerous opponent, the Joker. This permanent grin causes confusion even in the gangster scene. His attacks make no rational, comprehensible sense. When a robbery brings in financial gain, the Joker burns his share. What blasphemy! But he is only interested in one thing: chaos and destruction. He wants to scare the people of Gotham City, provoke their most terrifying reactions and tease evil out of them.

And here the film city once again resembles the global present. In it, the joker rages twice: disguised as global financial capitalism, with the masks of US and EU politicians – and as a warrior of Allah, disguised as peaceful Muslims seeking help.

Both are masks of the same „thing“, two variants of terror. The goal is the same in both cases: to make people feel universally helpless. IS and Al Qaeda are putting the Arab world in a state of terror with staged body annihilation, while financial capitalism is destroying the psyche of the people.

The West, already weakened by nihilism, produces resignation to the interests of finance capital, which ensures progressive mass poverty, deprives the youth of a future, speculates (or monopolizes) food and water away from the peoples of Africa.

When it comes to competing to see who is most efficient at gagging the people, Western finance capital relies less on panic and more on fatigue, on depression: No matter what you do, things have “no alternative”. Current: No matter how hard you protest, no matter how many experts tear their hair, we will still decide everything we have set out to do.

Whether you’re upset that we’ve summarily stopped your dreams of a peaceful and united Europe and turned the EU into an autocracy, we’re going ahead whether you like it or not.

We don’t care how you feel about Russia and Covid-19, we still declare Russia an enemy and the flu a pandemic.

NGOs and civil movements come and go in a short time. The non-reaction of politicians quickly makes them lose their breath. The emptiness remains. The Depression.
